Those Bigfoot Bearfoot races were all out war.
Bigfoot, the most famous Ford in the world.
37:33 big trucks
Damn I might have been there.
Makes me hungry for a SUNNYMEAD BURGER!

Very interesting interview with Bob. Many things I didn't know about; for example, the real reason they started to use fiberglass body parts. Great stuff.

Thanks for the memories...I left the track early that weekend to see my future wife. Such a great track, and always loved racing there (held a class track record there for a number of years in the late 2010s).
I was at that event
Dangerous races. 3:07 Look at that roof. If the impact had happened on the driver's side, it could have been serious. Leadfoot: amazing.
Grave Digger - USA 1 was the best race. Cool to hear the stories behind the truck names, I always wondered about No Problem's name. 8:45 that's a beautiful machine.
Truck pulls rule
Agreed.
🤠👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍😍
CAITLYN JENNER????
Yes, it is Bruce Jenner.
What happened to Bear Foot? Carolina Crusher didn’t hit the cars with both front tires, he should have been disqualified.
I was there. Im still here.
Even in the rain, Davy and the Jag were rocket ships!
I love that Bearfoot hot dqd for this since all the drivers years ago had Bigfoot dqd for doing it during qualifying
Bigfoot #1 must be the coolest thing ever invented. The bikes and the two-track pulling were great ideas... And who doesn't love the all-steel monster trucks at the end? 0:58 That's the spirit we miss today.
Bigfoot-Grave Digger was one of the closest races i've ever seen. Man, I really like Krimson Krusher. I didn't knew Big Boss; I remember seeing a picture a long time ago of a truck with the same name, but I think it was a Dodge. Cool pulling action also.
You put the monster trucks in a strangely shaped circuit like this and you certainly have some great action. That Casper Chevy was amazing and the tombstones in Grave Digger hilarious. Thanks for sharing...
You're welcome.
Revisiting this show since Monster Jam is now attempting to do a Z shaped course for the World Finals in Los Angeles this year. Not saying that the idea came from here but this is the first time since this Anaheim weekend that they did a Z course.
I was at this race, I was not into Mazdas yet,but the sound great..the track though is bumpy like Linen boulevard, it was one of the reasons this race died!
I was a Marshall where Jones crashed
Thank you for the insight.
Jones crash actually happened in the caroseul on the COOL DOWN LAP
He also crashed at high speed at Lime Rock.
Road Atlanta was scary with its earthen embankment and loose tires then. A sports racer blew a tire at the same place that year when i was working that station at the runoffs
Loved hearing David Hobbs call Halsmer "Concrete Pete" again after all these years. I have somehow remembered it all that time. Hilarious, and I also recall why he pulled that one out.
Joe Lowe definitely pronounced Worcester slightly like we New Englanders do - "Wooster"
That first stack was no joke. Dang.
True.
Ran out of track lol
Love that part at the start where it shows the big AM/PM Rocket monster truck behind them.
I like how the truck names allude to crushing cars, if that makes any sense
I usually dont fast forward old monster truck races.. but when i do its usually the monster wars season
I can remember the sick feeling in my stomach when Excaliber got pulled from the line agains Bigfoot. That race, I guarantee would have been a classic. Ex' was the better truck by far.
34:02 for Bad Medicine's incident. Note that Gary Porter is one of the first to the scene of the accident, coincidentally Bad Medicine was once a Carolina Crusher truck.
Anyone else around the age of 3 to 5 remember racing our aprint car toys under the stands? We were there every weekend, modifieds super modifieds and sprint cars every saturday night. The body cars were friday night ( thankfully)
This is fantastic old footage. Is this the only Grand Prix ever held in columbus?
They ran the event from 1985 to 1988.
"Earthqake"??? Seriously? There's no I in team, apparently there's no U in Earthquake either...
Something tells me the editors failed spelling.
@Mistertbones The builder did, too! It's spelled wrong on the truck! Anyway, thank you SO much for uploading this. My Dad and I have had a rocky relationship recently. However, we connect over these truck, tractor, and Monster Truck videos. Thank you. You may not realize it, but you're doing a service to 80s kids like me.
I’m glad I have this on vhs but not as good quality
Turbine turbo power
Bigfoot didn't have a very good driver
John Piant's a very good driver. It's just that Chuck Pauken was on a roll this night.
Great trucks... 1:02 I really liked that one.
Nissan GTP 300zxt Twin Turbo 🏁🏁🏁👍😁
Great races and machines. I always liked First Blood but that Hercules truck was amazing too. Does anyone know what engine Irish Challenger used?
Irish Challenger used an Arias engine, which is an all-aluminum Chevy with a hemi head.
@@Mistertbones thanks.
Would it be possible for someone to be nicer, or a better ambassador for real monster truck racing than Gary Porter??
I can't think of one.
Tank trucks can suck it lol. Good idea but ehh never as a kid in the 80s did I like them.
Bigfoot was and still is the king of the monster trucks
Agreed
Prob the best lineup of trucks ever. So glad these vids are on RUclips! Thank you
Great show. I say it again, nothing like old school monster trucks, just look all these beauties. I always prefered Bigfoot a bit but Duraliner Giant was just awesome (and Lon Ranger, and all the others) 39:45 You won't see a beautiful image like that in modern monster trucks, the best of the classic rivalry, flags included! Of the pulling trucks, I liked especially that 429 powered Virginian. Thanks for sharing this. That crazy stuntman almost landed on Bigfoot!
